Uneven, damaged walls

What do you do when you have an uneven, damaged wall in your house?  Perhaps it got damaged during wallpaper stripping, or perhaps the walls weren't finished properly by the builder.
We have recently come across a bathroom at a customer home that had damaged walls, and no matter how much time and effort we could put in with skim coating or what not, the walls will never really look good.
A great solution for these types of walls is to use Venetian Plaster.  It comes in different types of finishes. I personally like the smooth textured finish because of it's coverage, and how beautiful the finished effect is.  And best of all, it hides imperfections and gives a rich look to the room.
The subtle difference in the hue of the chosen color resembles silk or velvet, and the texture feels unbelievably silky to the touch.
Venetian plaster can be tinted to any color you want.  You will need some special tools (trowels) for the application, and if you are going to do this yourself, I suggest practice on a piece of drywall first.
The bottom line is : there is a cure for uneven or damaged walls!
